BAPTISM IN JESUS NAME
INFILLING OF THE HOLY GHOST
In 1924, Rev. Edwin Roark came to the Weches community and established the church. In 1950, the first
permanent building was erected. Through the generations of nearly a century, many great Pastors,
Missionaries, and Evangelists have filled the church’s pulpit, preaching a total of tens of thousands of
messages. Today, the church sits on the same original location of 3 acres, and also has a parsonage in
the back of the property.
We believe there is only one God(Deuteronomy 6:4 ). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and
of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son
(Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Jesus Christ for the remission of
sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ Romans
6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38.
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues.
We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Ghost. He ministers to His people
through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning
of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps and government. Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2
We pray together aloud because in the Bible we read, “They lifted up their voice to God with one
accord.” Acts 4:24
We lift our hands in Praise because in the Bible we read, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary,
and bless the Lord.” Psalm 134:2
We sing with all our hearts because in the Bible we read, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all
the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.” Psalm 98:4
We play musical instruments because in the Bible we read, “And all the house of Israel played
before the LORD on all manner of instruments.” II Samuel 6:5
We clap and shout unto God because in the Bible we read, “O clap your hands, all ye people;
shout unto God with the voice of triumph.” Psalm 47:1
We dance before the Lord because in the Bible we read, “Praise him with the timbrel and dance:
praise him with stringed instruments and organs.” Psalm 150:4
We anoint with oil for divine healing because in the Bible we read, “Is any sick among you? let
him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name
of the Lord.” James 5:14
